We are actively seeking a highly skilled and charismatic Bartender to join their evening shift team. As an Evening Shift Bartender, you will be the maestro behind the bar, responsible for crafting a diverse range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with precision and flair. Key Responsibilities
- Expertly prepare and serve a wide array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, wines, and spirits, following recipes and presentation standards.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner, offering recommendations and ensuring a positive experience at all times.
- Process customer orders and payments accurately using a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, ingredients, and bar tools, throughout the shift.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize waste through careful pouring and storage practices.
- Adhere strictly to all local liquor laws, health, and safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless service and a cohesive guest experience.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience as a Bartender in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
- In-depth knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes, spirits, wines, and beer.
- Ability to work evening shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by the business needs.
- Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and inventory management.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg (50 lbs).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized bartending or mixology school.
- Proficiency with modern POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Familiarity with local Mauritian beverage preferences and suppliers.
- Demonstrated creativity in developing new and exciting drink recipes or presentations.
