Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes and service standards.
- Interact positively with guests, taking orders, and making recommendations based on their preferences.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, garnishes, and supplies.
- Process payments, operate POS systems, and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene as necessary to ensure responsible service.
- Adhere to all provincial and municipal liquor laws and regulations, including verifying age.
- Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless guest experience.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and rotating liquor and other bar supplies.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold the establishment's reputation for excellent service.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bartender, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Extensive knowledge of drink recipes, mixing techniques, and bar equipment
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multitask effectively
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Must be of legal drinking age in Alberta and hold valid ProServe certification
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with a diverse cocktail menu and craft beverages
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems specific to the hospitality industry
