Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Beauty Therapist – Spa Assistant to join our dedicated wellness team at Splendid Hotel Muhanga. This role is perfect for an individual passionate about beauty, wellness, and delivering exceptional client service. As a Spa Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our spa facilities, providing a welcoming and serene environment for our guests, and supporting our lead therapists. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks ranging from greeting clients and managing appointments to performing basic beauty treatments and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage check-ins, and provide information about spa services and products.
- Assist senior beauty therapists with preparations for treatments, ensuring all necessary tools and products are readily available.
- Perform a range of basic beauty treatments including manicures, pedicures, express facials, and simple massages, under supervision if necessary.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of all spa areas, including treatment rooms, reception, changing rooms, and relaxation lounges.
- Manage spa laundry, ensuring a fresh supply of towels and linens.
- Monitor and replenish spa product inventory, assisting with stock ordering and receiving.
- Schedule and confirm client appointments, handle booking inquiries, and manage the spa calendar efficiently.
- Educate guests on spa services, packages, and retail products, promoting sales where appropriate.
- Ensure all spa equipment is clean, sanitized, and in good working order, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Assist with spa promotions, events, and marketing initiatives as required.
- Provide a high level of customer service, addressing guest concerns and ensuring a positive spa experience.
- Support a positive and collaborative team environment, assisting colleagues when needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in a spa, salon, or hospitality environment.
- Proficiency in basic beauty treatments (manicures, pedicures, facials, massage techniques).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Good understanding of spa hygiene and sanitation protocols.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or diploma from a recognized beauty therapy or cosmetology school.
- Knowledge of various spa software systems.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English, and/or French.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
