Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on marine engines (outboard, inboard, stern drive), transmissions, electrical systems, and propulsion units.
- Execute routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, tune-ups, and stern drive services.
- Conduct major and minor repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds of marine engines, gearcases, and related components.
- Troubleshoot and repair marine electrical systems, navigation equipment, and auxiliary systems.
- Install and configure marine accessories, electronics, and upgrades.
- Perform sea trials to test and verify repairs and system functionality.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records, including parts used and labor performed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior mechanics when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Boat Mechanic or similar marine service role.
- Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of marine engines and propulsion systems.
- Strong understanding of marine electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
- Proficiency in using specialized marine diagnostic software and equipment.
- Ability to perform welding and fabrication (basic level) for minor repairs.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems commonly found on boats.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driver's license (Class B or equivalent in Germany).
- Fluent in English (German language skills are a plus).
