Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including processing invoices and chasing outstanding payments.
- Process weekly and monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timely payments, alongside managing HMRC submissions.
- Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
- Maintain organised and up-to-date financial records, both physical and digital.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end accounts for external accountants.
- Handle petty cash and employee expense claims.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve financial discrepancies and queries.
- Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role (minimum 3 years).
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- AAT qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with payroll software and processes specific to the UK.
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards and tax regulations.
