Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
 - Process invoices, expense reports, and petty cash transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
 - Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations and other balance sheet accounts.
 - Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper coding and classification of transactions.
 - Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
 - Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial data is reconciled and accurately reported.
 - Monitor and manage cash flow, identifying discrepancies and ensuring financial stability.
 - Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for all financial documents.
 - Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
 - Collaborate with internal departments to resolve financial queries and provide necessary financial information.
 - Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
 - Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.
 
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role.
 - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
 - Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
 - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
 - Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
 - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
 - High level of integrity and confidentiality.
 - Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and French (Mauritian context).
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
 - Experience within the hospitality or hotel industry.
 - Familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS) like Opera.
 - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
 - Knowledge of Mauritian tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.
