Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Generate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end closing and liaise with external auditors.
- Process invoices, expense reports, and petty cash transactions accurately and promptly.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, reporting discrepancies and providing insights to management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Contribute to budget preparation and financial forecasting activities.
- Maintain organized and accessible digital and physical financial files.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role (minimum 3 years).
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
