Career.zycto is actively seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Bookstore Cashier to join our vibrant team in Achara Layout, Enugu. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to manage all sales transactions accurately and efficiently. This involves operating our state-of-the-art Point of Sale (POS) system, handling cash, processing credit and debit card payments, and ensuring precise change is given. Beyond the transactional duties, we expect our cashiers to be proactive in engaging with customers, offering friendly greetings, and assisting them with their inquiries. Whether it’s helping someone locate a specific title, recommending a new release, or simply sharing a love for a genre, your enthusiasm and knowledge will make a significant difference in their visit.
You will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, ensuring it remains inviting and clutter-free for our patrons. This extends to assisting with merchandising, shelving new arrivals, and tidying up the sales floor as needed, contributing to the overall aesthetic and functionality of the bookstore. Key Responsibilities
- Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently using POS systems.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and manage change effectively.
- Greet customers warmly and assist with inquiries, directing them to specific sections or recommending books.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and sales floor, ensuring an inviting atmosphere.
- Assist with shelving, restocking, and merchandising books and other products.
- Handle customer returns, exchanges, and resolve minor customer service issues with professionalism.
- Promote loyalty programs, special offers, and upcoming events to customers.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, including accurate cash reconciliation.
- Collaborate actively with team members to ensure a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience for all.
