Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process sales transactions using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and manage returns/exchanges efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers warmly and assisting with inquiries.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and sales floor.
- Assist customers in locating books and recommending titles based on their preferences.
- Replenish shelves, organize displays, and ensure books are attractively presented.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including balancing the cash register.
- Stay informed about new arrivals, promotions, and store events.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service or retail environment (preferably 6+ months).
- Excellent cash handling and POS system proficiency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for books and reading.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to lift and carry boxes of books (up to 20 lbs).
