Key Responsibilities
- Conduct primary and secondary inspections of travellers and commercial goods to determine admissibility into Canada.
- Enforce Canadian customs, immigration, and agricultural legislation, as well as over 90 acts and regulations on behalf of other government departments.
- Identify and interdict prohibited goods, illegal drugs, firearms, and other contraband.
- Collect duties and taxes, and apply trade agreements and policies.
- Interview individuals, conduct searches, and gather evidence in support of enforcement actions.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment and systems, including detection technology.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and international partners.
- Provide clear, concise, and professional communication to the public and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation related to inspections and enforcement actions.
- Maintain a high level of physical fitness and be prepared to respond to emergency situations.
