Career.zycto is actively seeking professional and highly motivated individuals to join our team as Bouncers – Club & Event Entry Control in Netherton, Liverpool. In this crucial role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, playing a vital part in creating a welcoming, yet secure, environment. You will be responsible for maintaining order, ensuring compliance with licensing laws, and upholding the highest standards of safety and customer service within various club and event settings. This isn’t just about security; it’s about being an integral part of the guest experience, managing crowd dynamics with a friendly yet firm approach, and proactively resolving potential issues before they escalate.

We are looking for individuals who possess excellent interpersonal skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to think quickly and calmly under pressure. You will be expected to work primarily during evenings, nights, and weekends, adapting to the dynamic atmosphere of live events and busy nightlife venues. Your ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people, from patrons to management and emergency services, will be paramount. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control access points, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the venue.
  • Verify identification and age of patrons, strictly adhering to Challenge 25 policies and licensing laws.
  • Conduct thorough searches where necessary, following established protocols, to prevent prohibited items from entering.
  • Maintain a highly visible and professional presence, deterring unruly behaviour and responding to security concerns.
  • Proactively identify and de-escalate potential conflicts or disruptive situations using effective communication techniques.
  • Respond calmly and efficiently to emergency situations, including medical incidents or fire alarms, coordinating with venue staff and emergency services.
  • Provide clear directions and assistance to patrons, enhancing their overall experience.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety and security of all areas.
  • Accurately complete incident reports and maintain detailed logs of any security-related occurrences.
  • Enforce venue policies regarding dress code, conduct, and responsible alcohol consumption.

Required Skills

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor License is mandatory.
  • Demonstrable experience in security or customer-facing roles.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage politely and assertively.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective under pressure.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to stand for extended periods and respond quickly to incidents.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities in high-stress situations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a bouncer or door supervisor in a busy club or event setting.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Advanced conflict management or de-escalation training.
  • Knowledge of local licensing laws and regulations specific to Merseyside.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
