Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking highly vigilant and professional Bouncers to join our dedicated team, facilitating secure and enjoyable experiences across premier clubs and event venues in Bridgeton, Glasgow. This pivotal role involves maintaining order, ensuring public safety, and delivering exceptional customer service at the entry points and throughout our clients’ diverse establishments. You will be the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a welcoming yet secure atmosphere. Your duties will extend beyond mere entry control to encompass crowd management, conflict de-escalation, and adherence to licensing laws. We are looking for individuals who possess a calm demeanor under pressure, sharp observation skills, and a robust understanding of security protocols and guest relations.
As a Bouncer, you will play a critical role in upholding the reputation and operational standards of our partner venues. This involves meticulous checks for valid identification, enforcing venue capacity limits, and respectfully denying entry to intoxicated or prohibited individuals. Beyond the entry, you will actively patrol designated areas, respond promptly to disturbances, and collaborate effectively with management and emergency services when necessary. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, capable of making sound decisions swiftly to ensure the safety and comfort of all patrons and staff. Key Responsibilities
- Greet patrons warmly while efficiently managing entry and exit points.
- Verify identification, age restrictions, and guest list requirements.
- Enforce venue policies, dress codes, and capacity limits.
- Conduct security checks and searches as required to prevent prohibited items from entering the venue.
- Monitor crowd behavior and promptly identify and address potential disturbances or conflicts.
- Skillfully de-escalate confrontational situations with professionalism and tact.
- Provide assistance to patrons and staff, including directions and emergency response.
- Collaborate effectively with venue management, local authorities, and emergency services.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, denied entries, and other relevant observations.
- Ensure strict adherence to all licensing laws and health & safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (mandatory)
- Proven experience in a security or bouncer role, preferably within a club or event setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
- Physical fitness and stamina for prolonged periods of standing and patrolling
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualification in security operations
- Previous experience working in high-volume nightlife venues in Glasgow
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation training certifications
- Proficiency in additional languages
- Basic IT skills for incident reporting systems
