Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a box truck (non-CDL or CDL Class B) for local deliveries within the Duluth area.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and accurately document findings.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify the accuracy of shipment contents against delivery manifests.
- Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues as needed and report any major repairs or concerns promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle interior and exterior.
Required Skills
- Valid Driver's License (CDL Class B preferred, or clean standard license with commercial driving experience).
- Minimum 18 months of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs regularly.
- Excellent knowledge of local Duluth and surrounding area roadways.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks (fluids, tires, lights, etc.).
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to traffic laws.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience operating a box truck.
- Forklift certification or experience.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems.
- Proven track record of reliability and punctuality.
