Key Responsibilities
- Assist brewers with all aspects of wort production, including milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, and transferring wort.
- Perform cleaning and sanitization of brewing vessels, fermentation tanks, and other equipment to maintain strict hygiene standards.
- Monitor fermentation processes, including taking samples, gravity readings, and temperature checks.
- Assist with beer transfers, filtration, carbonation, and packaging (kegging, bottling, canning) operations.
- Handle and store raw materials, including malt, hops, and yeast, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Operate and maintain brewing equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any malfunctions or issues.
- Participate in general brewery maintenance, including facility cleaning and organization.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and quality control procedures.
- Support inventory management and logistics as needed, including receiving and shipping.
- Collaborate effectively with the brewing team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of brewing principles or a strong willingness to learn rapidly.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 25kg) and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation and minor troubleshooting.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a brewery, food production, or manufacturing environment.
- Formal education or certification in brewing science or related field.
- Forklift operation certification.
- Basic knowledge of German language.
- Understanding of HACCP or other food safety management systems.
