As a Structural Bricklayer, you will be an integral part of our construction teams, responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and other building materials to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, and other structures. Key Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other construction materials to construct and repair walls, foundations, and other structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine materials required and placement of masonry units.
- Mix mortar, concrete, and other grouts by hand or with a mixer.
- Measure and cut bricks, blocks, and other materials to exact dimensions using various hand and power tools.
- Ensure surfaces are level, plumb, and square using levels, squares, and plumb bobs.
- Inspect masonry structures for defects, weaknesses, or damage and repair as needed.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company policies on all construction sites.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction workers, site supervisors, and project managers.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a structural bricklayer with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in laying various types of masonry units (bricks, blocks, stone).
- Strong understanding of construction techniques, methods, and procedures.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Trowel Occupations (Bricklaying).
- CSCS Card (Blue or Gold Skilled Worker).
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with specialist bricklaying techniques (e.g., archways, decorative brickwork).
