Career.zycto is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Broadcast Aide to join our growing team in Paquitequete, Pemba. As a Broadcast Aide, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our broadcasting facilities. You will work alongside experienced professionals, assisting with various aspects of live and pre-recorded productions, including studio setup, equipment operation, media management, and general administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup, operation, and breakdown of audio and video equipment for various productions (cameras, microphones, lighting, teleprompters).
- Provide technical support during live and pre-recorded broadcasts, ensuring all equipment functions correctly.
- Perform routine checks, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on studio equipment.
- Organize, label, and manage media assets, including video files, audio recordings, and graphic elements.
- Help with script loading, formatting, and operation of the teleprompter during productions.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the studio and control room areas.
- Run errands related to broadcast operations, such as picking up or dropping off equipment.
- Learn and strictly adhere to all broadcast safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with producers, directors, camera operators, sound engineers, and other technical staff.
- Provide general administrative support to the production team as needed.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated strong interest and passion for broadcasting, media production, or related fields.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to thrive and maintain composure in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving broadcast standards.
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment up to 15 kg when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some previous experience with audio/video equipment (e.g., school projects, volunteer work, personal hobbies).
- Familiarity with various digital media formats and basic file management.
- Basic understanding of broadcast terminology and production workflow.
- Proficiency in Portuguese (official language of Mozambique) is highly advantageous.
- A diploma or certificate in media studies, communications, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
