Career.zycto is seeking a compelling and dynamic Broadcaster to join our thriving TV and Radio team in Davidson’s Mains, Edinburgh. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present engaging radio and television programmes, live or pre-recorded, ensuring content is informative, entertaining, and adheres to broadcast standards.
- Conduct thorough research on topics, guests, and current affairs relevant to show segments, developing compelling scripts and discussion points.
- Interview guests, experts, and community members in a professional and engaging manner, facilitating insightful and thought-provoking conversations.
- Operate broadcast equipment, including microphones, mixing desks, and playout systems, ensuring seamless transitions and high-quality audio/visual output.
- Interact with listeners/viewers through calls, social media, and other platforms, fostering community engagement and responding to feedback.
- Collaborate with producers, technical staff, and content creators to develop new programme ideas and enhance existing formats.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitor activities, and local/national news to ensure content relevance and freshness.
- Adhere strictly to broadcasting regulations, legal guidelines, and company policies, including those related to impartiality, accuracy, and decency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Broadcaster in TV or Radio, with a strong portfolio of work.
- Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills, with a clear and engaging voice.
- Ability to ad-lib and respond spontaneously in live broadcast situations.
- Strong research and interviewing capabilities.
- Understanding of broadcast equipment and software (e.g., audio editing, playout systems).
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced live media environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- A keen interest in local Edinburgh community issues and broader current affairs.
Preferred Qualifications
