Career.zycto is seeking experienced and highly skilled Builders to join our growing team, working on diverse residential and commercial projects across La Louise, Quatre Bornes, and broader Mauritius. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated professionals who are passionate about construction quality, safety, and delivering projects that stand the test of time. As a Builder, you will be instrumental in transforming architectural designs into tangible structures, from initial groundworks to the final finishing touches. You will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other tradespeople, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently, to the highest standards, and in strict adherence to building codes and safety regulations. We are looking for individuals who possess a comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and tools, with a proven track record in both residential housing and larger-scale commercial developments. Your ability to interpret blueprints, solve on-site challenges, and contribute positively to a collaborative work environment will be key to your success in this role. Key Responsibilities
- Execute construction tasks including foundation work, framing, masonry, roofing, and general carpentry for both residential and commercial structures.
- Interpret and work accurately from blueprints, schematics, and construction plans.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including saws, drills, grinders, and other heavy equipment as required.
- Ensure all work adheres to local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and other construction trades.
- Perform routine site preparation and cleanup duties, maintaining a tidy and organised work area.
- Monitor inventory of building materials and tools, reporting needs to supervisors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor construction issues and make adjustments as needed.
- Assist in the training and supervision of junior builders or apprentices.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment, upholding company values on every project.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Builder in both residential and commercial projects.
- Strong proficiency in carpentry, masonry, plastering, and general construction techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Excellent knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Solid understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour and lift heavy materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to various job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational training or certification in construction trades.
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, forklifts, or cranes.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Leadership experience or experience supervising a small team.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices or green construction techniques.
