Key Responsibilities
- Execute various construction tasks including bricklaying, concreting, carpentry, and general site duties.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning, digging, and performing other necessary labour tasks.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Report any hazards, incidents, or defects to site management immediately.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, contractors, and project managers.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a builder or construction labourer on active sites.
- Demonstrable practical skills in various construction methods (e.g., masonry, formwork).
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong understanding and adherence to construction site safety procedures.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
- Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Construction or a related trade.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Experience operating specific construction machinery (e.g., diggers, dumpers) with relevant certifications.
- First Aid at Work certification.
