Career.zycto is seeking highly motivated and experienced Builders to join our dynamic teams across various site construction projects in the Pitsmoor, Sheffield area. As a Builder, you will be a crucial part of our construction crews, responsible for executing a wide range of building tasks from groundwork to final finishes. Key Responsibilities
- Execute various construction tasks including bricklaying, blocklaying, concreting, and general carpentry.
- Prepare and clear construction sites, including digging trenches and laying foundations.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently for construction tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate project execution.
- Assist in the installation of structural components such as steel frames, timber frames, and roofing systems.
- Perform general labour duties, including moving materials, site clean-up, and waste disposal.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople, supervisors, and project managers to ensure smooth project progression.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or issues on site promptly.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and stored correctly.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general building and construction work.
- Proficiency in bricklaying, blocklaying, and general concrete work.
- Competence in using a variety of hand and power tools common in construction.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and plans.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in General Construction or a related trade.
- Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience operating small plant machinery (e.g., dumper, mini-digger).
