Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on building systems, including HVAC filters, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and electrical outlets.
- Conduct daily inspections of premises to identify and report issues requiring maintenance or repair.
- Execute minor repairs such as patching walls, painting, replacing faulty switches or sockets, and addressing leaky faucets.
- Assist senior maintenance staff and technicians with complex repairs and installations.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from occupants, prioritizing and resolving issues efficiently.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and in good working order.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Assist with groundskeeping tasks, including light landscaping, waste removal, and general cleanliness of the property exterior.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and material usage accurately.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems and simple repairs
- Fundamental understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols
- Proficiency in using various hand and power tools
- Ability to perform general carpentry and painting tasks
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
- Previous experience in a similar building maintenance or facilities assistant role
