Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming building materials and supplies, verifying quantities against purchase orders.
- Organize and neatly arrange merchandise on shelves, racks, and display areas according to store layout and safety standards.
- Assist customers in locating products, provide basic product information, and help with loading purchases.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly store environment, including aisles, storage areas, and the customer service counter.
- Operate basic store equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks (if certified/trained), and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Process sales transactions accurately, handle cash and card payments, and issue receipts.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and stock checks to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Report any damaged, defective, or missing merchandise to the store supervisor immediately.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving minor issues professionally.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and merchandising.
Required Skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate record-keeping and transactions.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 25kg) regularly.
