As a Bus Conductor, you are the face of our service, interacting directly with the public, assisting with queries, and managing fare collection with precision and integrity. You will be responsible for a range of duties that contribute to the smooth operation of our routes, from issuing tickets and handling cash accurately to providing information on routes, schedules, and local points of interest. Safety is paramount, and you will play a key role in ensuring passengers board and alight safely, identifying and reporting any potential hazards, and assisting passengers with special needs. This position requires excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately collect fares, issue tickets, and handle cash transactions using onboard equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering passenger queries regarding routes, timetables, and local information.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, particularly those with disabilities, pushchairs, or mobility aids.
- Ensure passenger safety and comfort by monitoring the bus interior and communicating effectively with the driver.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures, as well as all relevant road safety regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and friendly, approachable demeanor at all times.
- Manage minor incidents or conflicts on board with tact and professionalism, escalating serious issues when necessary.
- Report any operational issues, equipment malfunctions, or passenger concerns to the appropriate channels.
- Help maintain cleanliness and orderliness within the bus cabin.
- Undertake continuous training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.
