Career.zycto is seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join our partners’ esteemed public transport teams as a Bus Conductor – Fare & Passenger Service in the vibrant area of Pontcanna, Cardiff. As a Bus Conductor, you will be the friendly face of public transport, often the first and last point of contact for passengers, playing a crucial role in their daily commute or leisure travel.

Your primary duties will involve the diligent collection of fares, issuance of tickets, and validation of various passes, ensuring all passengers have a valid ticket for their journey. You’ll be adept at handling cash and card transactions with accuracy and integrity, maintaining clear records as required. Beyond transactional duties, you will be a vital source of information and assistance for passengers. This includes providing clear directions, helping with route planning, announcing stops, and assisting passengers with accessibility needs, such as guiding those with limited mobility or providing assistance for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

A key aspect of this role is maintaining a comfortable and orderly environment on the bus. This involves managing passenger flow during boarding and alighting, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed, and responding calmly and effectively to any incidents or emergencies that may arise. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately collect fares, issue tickets, and validate passes for all passengers.

  • Ensure passenger safety and comfort by monitoring behaviour and managing the flow of passengers.

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness within your area of responsibility on the bus.
