Career.zycto is seeking dedicated and safety-conscious Bus Drivers to join our growing team, operating critical passenger routes across Manor and wider Sheffield. Key Responsibilities
- Operate public service vehicles safely, smoothly, and efficiently on designated routes throughout Sheffield.
- Adhere strictly to published timetables, ensuring punctuality and reliability for passengers.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting passengers with inquiries, journey planning, and accessibility needs.
- Process fares and tickets accurately using onboard electronic systems and handle cash transactions when necessary.
- Conduct thorough pre-service vehicle checks, including fuel, oil, water, tyres, lights, and brakes, reporting any defects promptly.
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment within the bus cabin, ensuring passenger comfort.
- Communicate effectively with the control centre regarding any delays, incidents, or emergencies.
- Comply with all company policies, road traffic laws, and health and safety regulations at all times.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally, upholding our commitment to service excellence and community engagement.
Required Skills
- Valid UK PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) Licence – Category D.
- Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional bus driving experience, preferably on passenger service routes.
- A clean and safe driving record with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of Sheffield and surrounding areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, on a rotating shift pattern.
- Demonstrable commitment to safety and adherence to operational procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with digital ticketing and real-time passenger information systems.
- Advanced driver training or defensive driving certifications.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
