Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive Business Continuity Support Officer to join our team in Roncesvalles, Toronto. In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, ensuring operational resilience and swift recovery from unforeseen disruptions is paramount. As a Business Continuity Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of our comprehensive business continuity management system (BCMS).
You will work closely with various departments, assisting in risk assessments, business impact analyses, and the creation of recovery strategies. Your day-to-day will involve coordinating drills and exercises, updating documentation, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our continuity plans. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs).
- Support the coordination of Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and risk assessments across various business units.
- Help organize and facilitate business continuity drills, exercises, and testing activities, documenting outcomes and identifying areas for improvement.
- Maintain and update critical business continuity documentation, including contact lists, vendor agreements, and recovery procedures.
- Monitor global and local events for potential impacts on operations and assist in developing proactive mitigation strategies.
- Provide training and awareness sessions to staff on business continuity policies and procedures.
- Support incident response activities during actual disruptions, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure alignment between IT disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
- Prepare reports on the status of business continuity initiatives and present findings to management.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging threats related to business continuity and operational resilience.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated understanding of business continuity principles, methodologies, and standards (e.g., ISO 22301, DRI, BCI).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field.
