Key Responsibilities

  • Execute precise cutting, trimming, deboning, and portioning of various meat products (beef, pork, poultry, etc.) according to company standards and customer requests.
  • Prepare and display an attractive selection of fresh meat products, ensuring proper rotation and appealing presentation.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including thorough sanitation of work areas, equipment, and tools.
  • Assist customers with meat selections, providing expert advice on specific cuts, optimal preparation methods, and proper storage.
  • Manage inventory, accurately monitor stock levels, and place timely orders for fresh meat supplies to prevent shortages.
  • Operate and maintain butchery equipment safely and efficiently, including saws, grinders, slicers, and packaging machinery.
  • Ensure accurate weighing, pricing, and labeling of all meat products in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth, efficient, and cohesive operation of the meat department.
  • Handle special customer requests and custom orders with professionalism, precision, and a customer-first attitude.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new cutting techniques and product offerings to meet evolving market demands.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a butcher with exceptional knife skills and precision.
  • In-depth knowledge of various meat cuts, their characteristics, and best uses.
  • Strong understanding and consistent application of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate and maintain all standard butchery equipment.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills, with a friendly demeanor.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work comfortably in a cold environment.
  • High attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training or a recognized certification in butchery.
