Key Responsibilities
- Skillfully cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind various types of meat (beef, pork, lamb, poultry) into retail portions.
- Process primal cuts into sub-primal cuts and ready-to-sell products with precision and minimal waste.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in all work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure proper storage, rotation, and labeling of meat products to guarantee freshness and prevent spoilage.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting customers with meat selection, offering cooking advice, and responding to inquiries.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering, and receive meat deliveries, checking for quality and quantity.
- Operate and maintain butchery equipment safely and effectively, including saws, grinders, slicers, and knives.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety regulations, health codes, and company policies.
- Prepare special orders and custom cuts as requested by customers or for specific recipes.
- Assist in merchandising and displaying meat products attractively to maximize sales.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a professional Butcher with strong knife skills.
- In-depth knowledge of various meat cuts, types, and their preparation.
- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP, ISO 22000 is a plus).
- Ability to operate and maintain butchery equipment safely.
- Excellent physical stamina and strength for lifting and standing for extended periods.
