Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise cutting, trimming, deboning, grinding, and portioning of various types of meat (beef, poultry, lamb, pork) according to specifications and customer orders.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the butchery area, tools, and equipment, adhering strictly to food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
  • Receive, inspect, and store meat deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and minimizing waste.
  • Prepare meat for display, ensuring attractive presentation and correct labeling with product information and pricing.
  • Operate and maintain butchery equipment safely and efficiently, including saws, grinders, slicers, and knives.
  • Assist customers with meat selections, provide cooking advice, and respond to inquiries with excellent customer service.
  • Monitor meat inventory levels, place orders as needed, and conduct regular stock checks.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to prepare specific cuts and quantities required for daily menus.
  • Ensure all products meet quality control standards before display or use.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Butcher or Meat Cutter
  • In-depth knowledge of various meat cuts and preparation techniques
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP principles)
  • Proficiency in using butchery tools and equipment (knives, saws, grinders)
  • Excellent knife skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
