Job Description

Career.zycto is thrilled to partner with a renowned local establishment in Terre Rouge, Pamplemousses District, seeking a dedicated and experienced Butcher to join their dynamic food preparation team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional passionate about delivering high-quality meat products and contributing to an outstanding customer experience within a community-focused environment.

As a Butcher, you will be at the heart of our client’s operations, responsible for the expert preparation, cutting, trimming, and packaging of various fresh meat products. Your role extends beyond just the technical aspects of butchery; you will be a vital member ensuring the freshness, appealing presentation, and safety of all meat offerings, directly impacting customer satisfaction and loyalty. We are looking for an individual who takes immense pride in their craftsmanship, possesses a deep understanding of different meat cuts and types, and upholds a keen eye for quality control and stringent hygiene standards.

You will be expected to skillfully handle a diverse range of meats, including beef, poultry, pork, and lamb, transforming primal cuts into various retail-ready products such as steaks, roasts, chops, mince, sausages, and specialty items. This requires precision, efficiency, and an innate ability to minimize waste while maximizing yield, ensuring profitability and sustainability. A significant part of your daily routine will involve maintaining an impeccably clean, sanitized, and organized work environment, adhering strictly to all local and international food safety regulations, including HACCP principles. You will also assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and receiving fresh deliveries, verifying quality and quantity.
