Spar Supermarket Maun is seeking a dedicated and experienced Butcher to join our vibrant team at our meat counter. Key Responsibilities
- Skillfully cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind various types of meat to precise specifications.
- Prepare and arrange appealing meat displays in the counter, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Assist customers with meat selections, provide cooking recommendations, and process special orders.
- Ensure strict adherence to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor and manage meat inventory, including receiving, storing, rotating stock, and minimizing waste.
- Operate and maintain butchery equipment safely and effectively.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and display cases regularly.
- Label and price products accurately and clearly.
- Maintain a friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor with all customers and colleagues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a butcher, preferably in a supermarket or retail setting.
- Exceptional knife handling skills and knowledge of various meat cuts and preparation techniques.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP or similar).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a refrigerated environment.
