Key Responsibilities
- Operate cash register accurately and efficiently, processing all customer transactions including cash, credit, and debit payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with their needs in the cafeteria area.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and ensure the overall tidiness of the cafeteria seating and serving areas.
- Handle cash and perform end-of-shift reconciliation with precision, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Assist with stocking, arranging, and refreshing products in the prepared foods display cases as needed.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve minor issues promptly and courteously, escalating complex situations to management.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to operate a cash register and handle transactions accurately.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail, grocery, or food service cashier role.
- Knowledge of various food products and basic food hygiene practices.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
