Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls promptly and professionally, addressing customer inquiries and concerns with empathy and efficiency.
  • Provide accurate information regarding Telkom products, services, billing, and promotions.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, guiding customers through diagnostic steps for internet, mobile, and fixed-line services.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues effectively, escalating complex cases to the appropriate department when necessary.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer interactions and transactions in the CRM system.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell Telkom products and services based on customer needs.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Continuously learn about new products, services, and system updates to provide up-to-date information.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure seamless customer service delivery.

Required Skills

  • Matric/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a customer service or call center environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong listening and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and navigating multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle difficult customer interactions with professionalism.
  • Customer-centric attitude with a passion for helping others.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification (Diploma or Certificate) in a relevant field.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Proficiency in additional South African official languages.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and call center technologies.
