Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a talented and experienced Camera Operator to join our dynamic production team, specializing in both studio and on-location filming. Key Responsibilities
- Operate professional video cameras and associated equipment (lenses, tripods, gimbals, sliders, drones, etc.) in both studio and field environments.
- Set up, test, and troubleshoot camera, lighting, and audio equipment prior to and during shoots.
- Collaborate with directors, producers, and clients to understand project requirements and achieve desired visual outcomes.
- Frame and compose shots effectively, ensuring creative and technically sound footage.
- Adjust camera settings (exposure, focus, white balance, frame rate) according to lighting conditions and artistic vision.
- Manage and organize captured footage, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Maintain all camera equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working order and reporting any issues.
- Adhere to production schedules and deadlines, managing time efficiently on set.
- Assist with basic lighting setups and audio recording as required.
- Travel to various on-location shoots, often requiring flexibility with hours and adapting to diverse environments.
- Contribute creative ideas and technical solutions to enhance visual storytelling.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Camera Operator in a professional production environment (studio and field).
- Expertise in operating a range of professional cinema and broadcast cameras (e.g., Sony, Canon, Blackmagic).
- Strong understanding of cinematography principles, including composition, lighting, and camera movement.
- Proficiency with various camera support systems (tripods, dollies, sliders, gimbals).
- Familiarity with lighting techniques and equipment for different shooting scenarios.
- Basic knowledge of audio recording for video production.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality content.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel for shoots.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Film Production, Media Studies, Cinematography, or a related field.
- Experience with drone operation (CAA PfCO or A2 CofC preferred).
- Familiarity with post-production workflows and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Experience with live streaming setups and multi-camera productions.
- Portfolio or showreel demonstrating diverse camerawork and technical skills.
