Career.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our vibrant team as a Part-Time Camp Counselor Aide in the picturesque setting of Tofo Beach, Inhambane. This unique opportunity allows you to immerse yourself in a dynamic environment, supporting our lead counselors and contributing directly to the positive development and enjoyment of children attending our various camp programs. As an aide, you’ll play a crucial role in daily operations, ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive atmosphere for all campers.

Our camp programs at Tofo Beach focus on outdoor activities, marine conservation awareness, creative arts, and team-building games, all designed to inspire curiosity and foster personal growth. You will be instrumental in facilitating these activities, guiding groups of children through exciting adventures, and providing invaluable assistance with logistics and supervision. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead camp counselors in organizing and supervising daily camp activities, including arts and crafts, sports, educational games, and outdoor adventures.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times, adhering strictly to camp policies and emergency procedures.
  • Help facilitate group dynamics, encouraging participation, teamwork, and positive social interaction among children of varying ages.
  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for various activities, and assist with cleanup and organization afterwards.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor for campers, promoting respect, responsibility, and enthusiasm.
  • Provide one-on-one support to campers who may need additional attention or encouragement.
  • Assist with snack and mealtime supervision, ensuring a tidy and enjoyable experience.
  • Communicate effectively with lead counselors regarding camper behavior, incidents, or concerns.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience working with children in a recreational, educational, or childcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children and adults.
  • High level of energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
  • Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to obtain certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or holding a degree/diploma in Education, Recreation, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience with outdoor education, marine conservation, or beach-based activities.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and English.
