Key Responsibilities
- Perform continuous surveillance of cardiac rhythms via telemetry monitoring systems for multiple patients.
- Accurately identify and interpret various cardiac arrhythmias, including but not limited to sinus rhythms, atrial rhythms, ventricular rhythms, and heart blocks.
- Document findings thoroughly and precisely in electronic health records, ensuring clear communication to nursing staff and physicians.
- Promptly notify nurses and other healthcare providers of significant changes in a patient's cardiac rhythm or any emergent arrhythmias.
- Maintain telemetry equipment, troubleshoot minor technical issues, and ensure proper lead placement and signal quality.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices and evolving cardiac monitoring technologies.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards regarding patient safety and privacy.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire
- Strong observational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate electronic health records systems
- Demonstrated ability to maintain composure during critical situations
