Career.zycto is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Caregivers specializing in Elderly Care to provide full-time assistance to our clients in Umoja, Nairobi. This vital role involves supporting seniors in their daily lives, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe, comfortable, and stimulating environment within their homes. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Provide medication reminders and assist with basic health monitoring (e.g., blood pressure checks as trained).
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with light household chores to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Offer companionship, engage in stimulating activities, and accompany clients to appointments or social outings.
- Monitor and report changes in client health, behavior, or well-being to family members or supervisors.
- Ensure client safety and respond to emergencies appropriately and effectively.
- Maintain accurate care records and communicate effectively with family members and other healthcare professionals.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in elderly care or a related field (at least 1 year).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to perform duties independently and reliably.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Physical stamina to assist clients with mobility and daily tasks.
- Understanding of senior health challenges and common age-related conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Home Care, Nursing Assistant, or a related field.
- Experience with clients suffering from dementia, Alzheimer's, or other chronic conditions.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Fluency in Swahili and English.
- Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
