Job Description

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a heart for serving seniors? As a Caregiver, you will be more than just an assistant; you will be a vital part of our residents’ daily lives, offering not only physical support but also emotional comfort and engaging companionship. Your day will involve assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming; providing timely medication reminders; preparing nutritious and appealing meals tailored to dietary needs; performing light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living space; and, most importantly, facilitating engaging activities designed to enrich the lives of our residents, from reading and conversation to gentle walks and recreational games. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide timely medication reminders and assist with self-administration as per care plan.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment.
  • Engage residents in stimulating activities, conversations, and provide companionship.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Monitor and accurately record vital signs, reporting any significant changes in health status or behavior to supervisory staff.
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable environment, promptly addressing any hazards or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and resident observations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role (minimum 1 year).
  • Exceptional patience, empathy, and a genuinely compassionate demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a gentle and respectful approach.
  • Ability to strictly follow care plans and adhere to all health and safety protocols.
  • Basic understanding of hygiene, personal care, and infection control practices.
  • Physical ability to assist with lifting, transferring, and supporting residents' mobility.
  • Strong observational skills and meticulous attention to detail regarding resident well-being.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
  • Fluency in both English and Swahili.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate in Caregiving, Nursing Aide (CNA), or a related healthcare field.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience specifically with dementia care or other common geriatric conditions.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and health monitoring practices.
