Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and respectful personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure comfort and safety.
- Administer medication reminders as per client care plans.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, tidying living areas, and grocery shopping.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities, conversation, and outings.
- Assist with transportation to appointments, social activities, and errands.
- Monitor and report any changes in client health, behaviour, or well-being to the care coordinator.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided and client observations.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, company policies, and care plans.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months experience in a caregiving or support role.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Current National Police Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Home and Community Care, or Disability).
- Experience with specific client needs, such as dementia care or palliative care.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the Lithgow community.
