Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate and respectful personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
  • Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Administer medication reminders as per client care plans.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, tidying living areas, and grocery shopping.
  • Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities, conversation, and outings.
  • Assist with transportation to appointments, social activities, and errands.
  • Monitor and report any changes in client health, behaviour, or well-being to the care coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided and client observations.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, company policies, and care plans.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 6 months experience in a caregiving or support role.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Current National Police Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Home and Community Care, or Disability).
  • Experience with specific client needs, such as dementia care or palliative care.
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the Lithgow community.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
