Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and feeding, always maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Administer medication as per care plans and training, meticulously documenting all actions and observations.
  • Monitor and record residents' health status, reporting any significant changes or concerns to the nursing staff or management.
  • Engage residents in meaningful social activities, recreational programs, and therapeutic exercises to promote mental and physical stimulation.
  • Assist with meal preparation, serving, and clean-up, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for residents, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
  • Provide emotional support, companionship, and active listening to residents, fostering a sense of belonging and comfort.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with residents, their families, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to the development and review of individual care plans.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of care provided, observations, and incidents.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards governing care provision.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable experience in a caregiving role, preferably within a residential setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong observational skills and the ability to respond appropriately to changing resident needs.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and communication.
  • Understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience with dementia care or specific conditions relevant to residential settings.
  • Knowledge of local safeguarding policies and procedures in Liverpool.
