As a Carpenter, you will be instrumental in constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials. Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
  • Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials using hand and power tools.
  • Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures such as frameworks, doors, windows, and stairways.
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
  • Operate various woodworking machines, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including project managers, electricians, and plumbers.
  • Ensure all work adheres to established safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing tools and materials.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices or less experienced team members when required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Expertise in using various hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment accurately.
  • Solid knowledge of safety standards and procedures on construction sites.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail for precise measurements and cuts.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity, with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Eligibility for a Skilled Trade Visa, with all necessary documentation prepared or in progress.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or vocational training in carpentry.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience in both residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Specialized skills in finish carpentry, custom cabinetry, or framing.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
