Key Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials using hand and power tools.
- Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures such as frameworks, doors, windows, and stairways.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Operate various woodworking machines, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including project managers, electricians, and plumbers.
- Ensure all work adheres to established safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing tools and materials.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices or less experienced team members when required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Carpenter, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Expertise in using various hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment accurately.
- Solid knowledge of safety standards and procedures on construction sites.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail for precise measurements and cuts.
- Physical stamina and dexterity, with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Eligibility for a Skilled Trade Visa, with all necessary documentation prepared or in progress.
