Zanzibar Building Contractors Ltd (ZBC) is excited to offer an immediate opening for a motivated and enthusiastic Carpentry Apprentice Worker to join our dynamic team in Mangapwani, Zanzibar North. This full-time position is an incredible opportunity for someone passionate about hands-on work, who is ready to absorb knowledge from experienced professionals, and contribute to constructing high-quality projects across Zanzibar. You will work directly alongside our seasoned carpenters, gaining practical, on-the-job experience that classroom learning alone cannot provide. This apprenticeship is designed to teach you the fundamental skills of carpentry, from basic measurements and cuts to more complex framing, finishing, and joinery techniques. You will learn about different types of wood, construction materials, safety protocols, and the efficient use of both hand and power tools. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced carpenters with various tasks on construction sites, including measuring, cutting, and shaping wood.
- Learn and practice safe operation of hand tools and basic power tools under direct supervision.
- Help prepare work areas by clearing debris and ensuring tools and materials are readily accessible.
- Support the installation of wooden structures, fixtures, and fittings, such as frames, doors, windows, and cabinets.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Attend all required training sessions and actively participate in learning new carpentry techniques and best practices.
- Load and unload materials, and transport them around the construction site as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the carpentry team and overall project goals.

- Basic understanding of measurements and ability to perform simple arithmetic.
