Job Description

A great opportunity awaits an enthusiastic and dedicated Carpentry Helper to join our growing team in Matola Sede. As a Carpentry Helper, you will play a crucial supporting role in our construction and renovation projects, assisting our experienced carpenters and contributing directly to the successful completion of various tasks. Your day-to-day will involve a variety of tasks, from preparing worksites and organizing materials to assisting with measuring, cutting, and installing wooden structures. You will be responsible for ensuring tools and equipment are clean, well-maintained, and safely stored, as well as maintaining a tidy and organized work area. This role offers invaluable exposure to different aspects of carpentry, including framing, trim work, cabinetry, and general construction. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled carpenters with various tasks, including measuring, cutting, shaping, and installing wood structures and fixtures.
  • Prepare work areas by setting up and dismantling scaffolding, ladders, and temporary structures.
  • Transport and organize materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Clean and maintain tools, machinery, and work areas to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Perform basic demolition tasks as needed, under supervision.
  • Load and unload construction materials, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Help with site clean-up and waste removal.
  • Learn and apply basic carpentry techniques and safety practices.
  • Support the team in achieving project deadlines and quality standards.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools (e.g., hammers, drills, saws).
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 kg).
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to safety procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Basic communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (even informal) in a construction or manual labor role.

  • Valid driver's license (Mozambique).
