Key Responsibilities
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems, handling cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product location and information.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area and assist with general store cleanliness.
- Handle customer returns, exchanges, and complaints professionally and efficiently, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising products, and ensuring displays are well-presented and fully priced.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling, security, and customer service.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.
- Uphold health and safety standards, ensuring a safe shopping and working environment for everyone.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Cashier or in a similar customer service role (6+ months preferred).
- Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to operate Point-of-Sale (POS) systems efficiently.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10kg.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
