Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Handle various forms of tender, including cash, credit/debit card payments, and gift cards.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised checkout area.
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers warmly and resolving inquiries promptly.
- Assist with product bagging and offer carry-out assistance when necessary.
- Process returns, exchanges, and voids strictly following company policies and procedures.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of product information, current promotions, and pricing.
- Accurately balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient store operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service or cashier role (minimum 6 months preferred, but entry-level applicants with strong potential are encouraged to apply).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong numerical aptitude and meticulous attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Basic computer literacy for operating POS systems and other store technology.
