Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other forms of payment with precision.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide exceptional service.
- Maintain a clean and organised checkout area.
- Scan items, ensure correct pricing, and assist with bagging groceries when necessary.
- Balance cash drawers at the end of shifts and report any discrepancies.
- Promote store loyalty programs and special offers to customers.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially regarding cash handling and security.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth flow of operations during peak hours.
- Assist with basic merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves near the checkout area if required.
