Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet customers and process all transactions accurately and efficiently using modern POS systems.
  • Handle various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, and debit cards, and accurately provide change, receipts, or process refunds.
  • Maintain a consistently clean, organized, and inviting checkout area.
  • Assist customers with product inquiries, locate items, and direct them to the appropriate departments or colleagues when necessary.
  • Accurately balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns with professionalism, empathy, and a courteous demeanor.
  • Scan items, ensure correct pricing, and apply discounts, coupons, or loyalty points as appropriate.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth, cohesive, and efficient customer experience across the store.
  • Stay thoroughly informed about current promotions, pricing policies, payment procedures, and security practices.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Cashier or in a similar customer service-focused role.
  • Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging positively with diverse customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently, even during peak periods.
  • Proficiency with modern Point of Sale (POS) systems and basic computer operations.
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain composure in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong, proactive work ethic.
  • A consistently customer-centric approach with a friendly, approachable, and outgoing personality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Previous experience in a dedicated retail or hospitality setting.
  • Familiarity with basic inventory management principles.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is considered a valuable asset.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
