Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet customers and process all transactions accurately and efficiently using modern POS systems.
- Handle various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, and debit cards, and accurately provide change, receipts, or process refunds.
- Maintain a consistently clean, organized, and inviting checkout area.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, locate items, and direct them to the appropriate departments or colleagues when necessary.
- Accurately balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Address customer complaints or concerns with professionalism, empathy, and a courteous demeanor.
- Scan items, ensure correct pricing, and apply discounts, coupons, or loyalty points as appropriate.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth, cohesive, and efficient customer experience across the store.
- Stay thoroughly informed about current promotions, pricing policies, payment procedures, and security practices.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Cashier or in a similar customer service-focused role.
- Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions.
