Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and setup of catering venues, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and décor according to event specifications.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner during events, paying close attention to dietary restrictions and special requests.
  • Support the culinary team with basic food preparation tasks, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are consistently met.
  • Manage the presentation and replenishment of buffet stations, ensuring food items are fresh, attractive, and well-stocked.
  • Handle all aspects of accommodation-related catering, such as delivering welcome amenities, setting up breakfast services for overnight guests, or providing room service support for sponsored attendees.
  • Efficiently clear tables, wash dishes, and maintain a clean and organized work area throughout and after events.
  • Assist with inventory management of catering supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with event coordinators, kitchen staff, and other service personnel to ensure a cohesive and seamless event flow.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and company policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service, anticipating guest needs and responding promptly and positively to inquiries or requests.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in catering, food service, or hospitality roles (minimum 6 months)
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality presentation
  • Reliable transportation to Downtown Smyrna

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Food Handler's Permit/Certification
