Lefika La Metsi Country Lodge is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our bustling kitchen and events team in Mokema, Teyateyaneng. This is a full-time position for an individual who is ready to hit the ground running and contribute to exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the preparation, setup, and execution of food and beverage services for various functions, including conferences, weddings, private parties, and daily restaurant operations. Your duties will span across assisting chefs with food preparation, setting up dining areas, serving guests, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and service areas. This role requires a high level of energy, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, and portioning ingredients.
- Set up dining areas, buffets, and event spaces according to specifications, ensuring all equipment and utensils are clean and presentable.
- Serve food and beverages to guests during events, maintaining a polite and professional demeanour.
- Clear tables, wash dishes, and ensure the kitchen, serving areas, and equipment are meticulously cleaned and organized after each service.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety practices in accordance with lodge policies and health regulations.
- Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring all areas are well-equipped.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to guest requests promptly and courteously.
- Support the broader kitchen and front-of-house team as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
