Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and setup of event spaces, including tables, chairs, and buffet lines.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and friendly manner.
- Help with basic food preparation, plating, and presentation under the guidance of kitchen staff.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in all catering areas before, during, and after events.
- Replenish food and beverage stations as needed throughout events.
- Clear tables, wash dishes, and perform general clean-up duties.
- Interact positively with guests, addressing their needs and providing excellent customer service.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, event coordinators, and other team members.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or customer service (minimum 6 months)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
- A positive attitude and a commitment to guest satisfaction
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Formal training or certification in hospitality, food service, or culinary arts
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene protocols (HACCP or similar)
- Experience working in a lodge or hotel setting
- Ability to speak Sesotho and English fluently
